About Me

Hi! My name is Breane. How do you pronounce that, you wonder? Well any way you want really. When you grow up with a strange name, you learn to accept anything. I believe my mother intended it to be pronounced Bree-un however. That is how I pronounce it as well.

My husband, John and I have three children. Twin daughters (Maya and Naomi) who are almost 4 and a son (Calder) who will soon be 2. I am sure you will get to know them well by reading my blog. We are fairly new residents of San Antonio, TX and am having fun getting to know the city. I am originally from Birmingham, AL and most of my family still live there.

Since becoming a mother, I have wanted to learn to make clothing for my kids. I procrastinated for a few years but have finally stopped making excuses and jumped right in trying to teach myself. So far, I have been doing this by following tutorials on other sewing blogs, buying super cute “download and print at home” patterns from Etsy, and using store bought patterns.

I invite you to please follow along and join me in my sewing adventures! Feel free to leave any comments you think are in any way relevant to my posts. I will do my best to respond when I can. I am not only a new sewer but a new blogger, so feedback is very important! I am hoping to learn from my subscribers as well!

Thank You!

  1. Hello – If I see a fabrics I like, is there a way to find out who makes it? I’m starting to get ideas for dresses for my 7 yr old granddaughter. Thank you, Jan

    • Hi Jan. I try to mention where the fabrics came from in my posts but sometimes I forget. Occasionally, I don’t remember where I bought them and/or they aren’t marked. If you see a particular fabric you want more info on, comment on that post and I will try to find out for you! Thanks!
