I finally did it! I set up my sewing nook. It is still lacking personality. I haven’t gotten around to painting the upstairs yet but the functionality is there and I am so excited!
You can look at my previous post to see the before photos.
Here is what it looks like now!
Here is my desk area with lots of room in the future for a serger and an embroidery machine upgrade!
And my cutting table.
Wow. I could barely find room for my fabrics before and now look at all that storage space. Oh, how I cant wait to fill it!
I even justified buying this cart I have been eyeing for months as my “current projects” storage.
I had way too much fun on my Ikea trip…
So I had to go to Joann’s and top it off with a spool holder and some new fabric.
It looks so good! And I love the Ikea bookshelves/desk. And yay for the art around the nook too. It’s looking so inviting! Can’t wait to see what you cook up in there.
Thanks Melody! I am loving sewing in there.
It looks great and it seems to be right in the middle of things. I like that or otherwise I feel like I am missing out. Have a great time with it.

I agree. Its nice to have the kids playing upstairs with me while I sew. It also keeps the downstairs a lot cleaner! Thanks!
Oh, it looks so great! Fertile – the way a creative space should be! And you can see all your materials now, without having to upset the other stuff! How great to have your own dedicated space. Will you ever go downstairs again?
I try not to go downstairs any more then needed! Got to feed those kids eventually though. 😉
